Annual General Membership Meeting

Stan Koopmans, Senior Vice President and Bonnie Van Epps, Vice President of Retail at Cambridge State Bank hosted the event at the bank. Bonnie is alsoCambridge Area Chamber of Commerce Treasurer.
John Milligan provided an overview of what the Economic Development Commission (EDC) received from the consulting firm Vierbicher& Associates. The plan will be presented at a meeting in the Amundson Center on Thursday 2/9/12 starting with a light supper at 5:45 and presentation starting at 6:00. All are welcome and encouraged to attending this community meeting.
Jeff Leoni, Chamber President presented the overview of last year’s successes as well as presentations from Bonnie Van Epps with a treasurers report and Lori Carrington with an Events report.
Voting occurred for the new board and after the votes were counted, the following are the results:

Linda Begley-Korth will serve as the Chamber Liaison for the (EDC) to help implement the recommendations of the report that the Chamber will be responsible for.
Jody Wilke will be CAP liaison with the Chamber.
Darcy Mullins of the Folk House and the Cambridge
Collective gave a presentation about this new group. She stressed the fact that
this group was created to help promote the Cambridge Area as a whole and is
there to work with the Chamber and not an alternative to the Chamber. Business
listings are free and if you’d like to become a member, there is a nominal $25
fee which gives you an enhanced listing on the website. Their website is

Carol Sapienza provided an update on the Cambridge Frosty Frolic scheduled for
2/12/12 with activities after the annual Dip for Dozer fundraiser. It's a
way for the business community to work together for a good cause.

Appreciation was expressed to the outgoing Chamber Board members for all of their hard work in 2011. Those include Shirley Holzheuter (President) Elegance & Design Studio, PammiSekon (Secretary) Cambridge Gas & Motel, Tom Hotter from Hotter Gallery, Lori Carrington Errands-on-the-Go, Ken Kemler from Keystone Grill and John Milligan, The Verge Group.
The new Chamber Board will meet next week to plan for 2012. More info will be provided after the meeting about plans for the future.
