The 2013 Maxwell Street Days will take over the streets of Cambridge on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3.  To date nearly every downtown business has signed up to participate in the sidewalk sale. Great bargains can be found on local pottery, glass, jewelry, clothing and more.  There will also be street vendors and community groups joining in.  Most sidewalk sales are on Main Street, there will be plenty of action at the Route 18 corridor.   Bingham’s Buy and Sell will have a sidewalk sale during Maxwell Street Days.  They offer everything from antiques to yard art and anything in between open from noon to 8 pm Thursday through Sunday and on auction days. They are located at 400 England Street (near Piggly Wiggly).  Millers Country Bakery (aka the Amish Baker) will be in front of The Wood Shed.

The Friends of the Library will be hosting their huge book sale at the Amundson Center, 200 Spring Street.  Badger Vet is holding its Waggin’ Train Scavenger Hunt and Block Party.  The scavenger hunt starts at their location on Katy Court, heads downtown and back.  The Block Party will be held from 11 am to 1 pm at 712 Katy Court (near the Matt Kenseth Museum).

In addition to the great deals at Maxwell Street Days, Cambridge is also hosting a Community Wide Garage Sale.    There is a small fee of $15 in order to be included on the marketing materials to be distributed with the addresses of participating sales throughout the Cambridge area.

Between shopping visitors can enjoy 4H Club Face painting, Oakland Presbyterian Church pancake breakfast at 313 E. Main St. from 7 to 11 am on Saturday, and St. James Church’s cookies and lemonade stand.

Shopping hours vary by location and parking is accessible on Main Street.
